This standard deck girder bridge crosses Big Creek between Slater and Madrid, Iowa.
Built in 1913 during a period of double tracking of this route, the bridge consists of a single deck girder span set onto concrete abutments. During the reconstruction, the original 1905 span was shifted to the present abutments and a second track added.
In 1958, the original 1905 span was removed from the bridge, leaving a single track remaining.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair condition. Some spalling has begun on the substructures. Currently, the bridge serves the High Trestle Trail.

The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common and standardized design.
